Post Rehab
"I have absolutely no pain at all. The doctors and nurses a rehab could not believe my fast recovery. I look forward each day to go to the gym, work out, socialize, and leave feeling great." -- Sally S.
Many of our clients are referred to us by physicians, physical therapists, or following treatment in a cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation center. Following these treatments, it is essential that one continue an exercise program to maintain and continue to build upon the fitness level achieved during rehabilitation. Combining cardiovascular, functional and resistance training will improve overall strength, endurance and agility, thus decreasing the time it takes for one to return to everyday activities and prevent further illness or injury. Strengthening the heart through cardiovascular training allows for better distribution of oxygen and nutrient rich blood to working muscles. This will make activities like walking, climbing stairs or playing with a child or grandchild less strenuous. A resistance training program will maintain and increase muscular strength around an injury and has also been proven to increase resting metabolic rate, eventually leading to weight loss. Not only will individuals who have suffered from an illnesses or injury reap physical benefits from the personalized exercise regiments offered at Mike Leonard’s Physical Fitness, but the outcome will also benefit the individual’s quality of life. Speaking with others who can empathize or understand personal experiences has a positive impact on an individual’s mental state. At Physical Fitness, you can share stories and experiences with the welcoming staff and members.
