Flexibility

Probably the most overlooked of the five components of overall physical fitness is flexibility.  Tight muscles lead to the decrease and loss of range of motion in joints along with many other issues.  Many of the current clients at Physical Fitness began their membership with us due to complaints of low back pain.   Muscles of the anterior, medial and lateral thigh actually connect to areas of the lower back and may be the main cause for low back pain in some cases.  Many times these muscles, especially in individuals who are in a seated position for most of the day, are so tight that they actually pull forward on the bones of the lower back and create this discomfort.  Stretching these muscles regularly will normally decrease that painful sensation in most cases and can potentially make it disappear for good.
