Neurological Conditions
"Before I worked out regularly I could not get into a car easily but now because my abdominal muscles are more well developed, I can do it with ease." --Dana C.
Alzheimer’s disease along with many other neurological conditions has been shown to be positively impacted by a regular exercise routine. Numerous studies have proven that exercising maintains a positive relationship between the brain and the muscles it controls; it has also been proven to increase the number of neurons in the brain. This increase in neurons makes the brain function more efficiently. During any type of physical activity, the individual’s heart rate increases to supply added oxygen and nutrient blood to working muscles. Along with the increased blood supply that the muscles receive, the brain receives more nutrient and oxygen rich blood leading to more nourished and healthy brain cells.
